Ten years together calls for a gift that reflects the strength of what you've built. The tradition runs deep: tin has been the 10th wedding anniversary material for centuries because it bends without breaking — durable, flexible, and made to last, just like a strong marriage. Every piece in this collection is cast, beaten and polished by hand in our Cornwall workshop using 100% pure tin. From timeless tin heart pendants to one-of-a-kind tin rocks picked from local Cornish beaches, you'll find something that turns ten years of love into something you can hold.

Why tin? The meaning behind the 10th anniversary material
The tradition of giving tin for the tenth wedding anniversary dates back to medieval Europe. As the materials list progresses from paper at year one to diamond at year sixty, each year's gift is chosen for what it symbolises about the marriage at that point. Tin sits at year ten because it embodies what a decade of marriage tends to look like: tested, shaped by experience, but still flexible enough to bend with change.
Pure tin is one of the few metals soft enough to be worked by hand without losing its form. It can be hammered, cast, polished and engraved. It doesn't tarnish like silver or rust like iron. It catches light beautifully when finished, and over time it develops a soft patina that only deepens its character. In other words: it's a metal that gets better with age. Hard not to read into that.
Tin in Cornwall
Cornwall and tin have a longer history together than almost any other industry on earth. Tin was being smelted on this peninsula in the Bronze Age — three thousand years ago — and the great Cornish tin mines of Carlyon, Redruth and Geevor were among the most important in the world right up until the 20th century. When we started Anniversary Gifts in 2008, we were a small workshop in Cornwall casting tin jewellery for couples celebrating their tenth. We're still in Cornwall, still casting tin by hand, only now there are more of us and the range has grown.
That heritage matters. The tin we use is genuine — and many of our pieces incorporate Cornish-mined tin or use historic Cornish moulds, like our Carlyon & Sons branded ingot. When you buy a 10th anniversary tin gift from us, you're buying into a thousand years of Cornish craft as much as a wedding tradition.
Tin gift ideas for him
For husbands, our most-loved 10th anniversary pieces are the tin cufflinks (square, beaten, with a stamped "10" in the corner), the personalised tin rock paperweight, the tin heart keyring, and our Tin Beaten Disc Pendant on a leather cord. We also offer the tin & diamond cufflink range for couples who want to mix tradition with a touch of luxury.
Tin gift ideas for her
The signature 10th anniversary gift for women is the Stamped Heart Necklace — cast and beaten by hand, with the number 10 stamped into the top corner so it's never forgotten. We pair it with matching Stamped Heart Earrings. Beyond jewellery, the Tin Daffodil Necklace nods to Cornwall's national flower, and our Tin Cut-Out Flower Pendant is one of our most popular pieces of the range.
Personalised tin gifts
Almost everything in this collection can be personalised. Add your wedding date, both your initials, or a phrase that means something to you. Personalisation is done in our laser-engraving department by the same team that casts the gifts — usually within two business days.
What about the modern 10th anniversary gift?
In the modern American gift list, the 10th anniversary is associated with diamonds. If you'd like to combine tradition with the modern interpretation, our Tin & Diamond range fuses pure Cornish tin with set diamonds in necklaces, rings and cufflinks — a literal way to honour both lists at once.
